(with Josh Scogin of The Chariot, Norma Jean)
’68 is the forward thinking progress of an artist who finds satisfaction in the expression of dissatisfaction. There’s progression in this regression. Tear apart all of the elements that have enveloped a singer’s performance, strap a guitar on the guy and set him loose with nothing but a beat behind him? It’s a recipe for inventive, fanciful mayhem.

Trophy Scars, it’s fair to say, don’t believe in doing things by halves. In fact, they’re more inclined to do things in doubles. The latest album from the Morristown, New Jersey quartet was initially worked up as a 35-page screenplay treatment by vocalist and lyricist Jerry Jones, and is conceptually even more ambitious than 2011’s Never Born, Never Dead EP, which took reincarnation as its theme.

Four individuals bringing influences together from the different music backgrounds they come from. Atlas is a Post-Hardcore band balancing on the edge of "mainstream" and at the same time something which is hard to define. Aggressive and raw vocals accompanied by technical riffs and explosive drums. They are fighting an inner war and their tunes will reflect it.
